Quail Pages

A structured way to build professional websites, and the workflow behind this Maple Peaks package.

Websites from structured content

Quail Pages is a structured website system for creating fast, professional sites from authored JSON. Instead of burying meaning in page-builder clutter, it separates discovery, content, structure, theme decisions, validation, and rendered review.

That separation matters. A website should be understandable to the person who owns it, the team maintaining it, and the tools helping build it.

The workflow this site follows

  1. Research the organization and existing public presence.
  2. Record discovery knowledge with sources, assumptions, conflicts, and open questions.
  3. Build the content inventory and information architecture before authoring pages.
  4. Decide the sitemap, navigation, and page responsibilities.
  5. Set the imagery strategy before treating images as decoration.
  6. Translate visual direction into QP Base and theme decisions.
  7. Author site configuration and page JSON.
  8. Validate against the public contracts.
  9. Build and review the rendered result against discovery.

This Maple Peaks package follows that path as far as the public alpha allows. The Quail Pages renderer is not public, so this package is authored and validated source, not a claim of official renderer output.

Why I am building it

Clear contracts

Discovery, authored pages, classes, icons, and themes each have an owner. That makes decisions easier to inspect and revise.

Content before clutter

Pages begin with what visitors need to understand and do, then choose the smallest truthful QP structure.

Themes without chaos

QP Base supplies the shared presentation architecture. A theme expresses identity through semantic variables and owned CSS.

Review against truth

Rendered review compares the site with discovery, so content accuracy and audience needs stay ahead of cosmetic fixes.

Alpha, honestly labeled

Quail Pages is in early alpha. The public contracts are inspectable, and real sites demonstrate the direction, but the complete independent build and deployment execution layer is not public today.

That honesty is part of the product. The system should make what is known, assumed, and unfinished visible instead of hiding it behind a polished claim.
