FeatherQuest

Birding turned into an epic adventure, and a working example of Maple Peaks publishing in public.

Turn birding into an epic adventure

FeatherQuest began with a simple idea: everyday birding could feel more playful, meaningful, and shareable. Under Maple Peaks, it became a publishing and community venture with books, guides, activities, events, experiences, and stories from the field.

It is also proof of how I like to build. Start by noticing something real. Make it welcoming. Give people a path. Then keep improving the system as the community teaches you what it needs.

What FeatherQuest teaches Maple Peaks

  • A clear invitation beats a complicated explanation.
  • People learn faster when progress is visible.
  • Community feedback is product research with better stories.
  • Publishing is a system: content, design, launch, fulfillment, and follow-up all matter.
  • Joy is not the opposite of rigor. It is often what makes rigor sustainable.
